Wooh! Tiga hari aku tak blog betul-betul. Gomen! Been really busy and I
wanted to take my time to write a long, proper blog.
Thursday was a pretty slow day. Things only turned interesting at night, when
Shuq called me. :) We were planning to meet for the first time on Friday along
with Hani and Yong. Interesting piece of conversation:
Me: (Handphone rings)
Excuse me, jap. (Answer phone. Hani) Hello?
Hani: Hallo. Are we still
on for tomorrow?
Me: Yes, yes. Infact, I'm
talking to Shuq right now.
Hani: Oh? Tell him :
You're male. Therefore, you are strange.
Me: Umm, OK. (to Shuq)
Message from Hani: You're male. Therefore, you are strange.
Shuq: Tell her: You are
female. Therefore, you will never be understood.
I am surrounded by such bizarre wit! :)
Chatted on with Shuq til really late. He was scaring me with these cerita
hantu, espesh the ones that involved UiTM. Note to Shuq: I still go
there. There's no need to make me paranoid! Tiba-tiba I felt a presence. I
turned around and saw a cat.
We don't have a cat. And we were on the second floor.
It stared at me for a few seconds, then turned and walked away calmly. I
instantly got up running after it, yelling for Popo to wake up to look for it
because it was heading towards her direction. But Popo was asleep. And when she
woke up, we did not find the cat. It had vanished.
Popo: Are you sure it was
a cat? It could have been a cicak.
Me: ...
Next day, woke up earlier than usual (ie 10ish) to ready myself. Decided to
wear skirt instead of jeans because Popo had washed my favourite pair (boo!
hiss!).
Popo: Are you sure you
saw a cat last night?
Me: Yes!
Popo: Well, why didn't we
find it then?
Me: ...Maybe I ngigau.
Popo: Maybe it was a
cicak.
Me: Cicaks don't have
fur.
Hani picked me up and we went off to Bangsar LRT station. Ugh, nasty Friday
noon jam. Pointed out this creepy commercial they have in the LRT Tunnel. Has
anyone seen it? It's by Canon. I think it's an LCD display. It's really cool but
kinda creepy when you suddenly see moving images in the LRT tunnel...
Met Shuq at Coffee Bean. Whoa! He has more grey hairs than I thought he
would...Ooh, and a fascinating Xena chakram like pendant. V cool. Yong was late.
Caught in jam or something like that. Had this chicken and mushroom linguini.
Didn't think much of it, too heavy on the pepper and garlic for my taste. But
coffee was good. I love Coffee Bean's Black Forest.
Yong arrived, I belanja-d him a drink as a belated birthday present. Once we
were done, we went to watch a flick: S1M0NE, starring Al Pacino. I like it! It's
very funny, although I think the ending's a bit far-fetched. Pacino (still
gorgeous at his age I might add) plays Victor Taransky, a director who decides
to digitally create his star. Problem is, people are convinced that she is real
and all sorts of crazy things ensues as he tries to keep up with his lie.
Later, we lepaked by the KLCC Garden. Hani and I were 'spotted' by this
modeling agency. V flattered. Until I got home that is.
Me: Guess what? Hani and
I were discovered-
Euns: (snort) Let me
guess, she was from this modeling agency?
Me: ...yeah. How did you
know?
Euns: Me and my friends
pernah kena as well. But we didn't bother.
Me: Why not?
Euns: Cos they must be
pretty desperate! They pick up practically every girl there is in KLCC. Heck,
they've even been in Sri Aman on Ko-Op Day!
Me: ...
Well. At least I can claim that the first time I was 'discovered', it was by
an honest to goodness professional. I can't remember his name, but he's a big
wig at RTM. He was crazy about my speech style. He wanted to take me as his protégé
but being the camera shy idiot that I am, I declined.
Hani dropped me off at home, while she and Yong went to Mid Valley.
Euns: It's all your
fault. Now, I'm paranoid about being in my own room!
Me: Me? Why? What did I
do?
Euns: You told Popo you
saw a cat come out from my room last night.
Me: Well, I did. She
finally believes me?
Euns: She has two
theories: either you were hallucinating or you saw a rat. So they've set a
mouse trap in my room!
We had to sleep at Taman Medan that night. Popo punya pasal. As mentioned in
previous blog, she had turned paranoid about leaving the house unoccupied.
Nevermind the fact that Eunice had been there earlier in the day. Have to tidur
there jugak. Bah.
It was there that I dropped my precious handphone. At first, I thought it was
alright. I've dropped it a few times, especially when I was in UH, and it had
survived. Unfortunately, luck was no longer by my side.
The display is now broken. I can't see a single thing on the screen. Oh, the
light works fine. Everything else is perfectly alright. I can make, hear and
receive calls and SMSes. Just don't expect me to be able to read who it's from.
It's like being blind. I have to totally rely on sound and memory. Am upset
about this. Called Cindy to complain. Called Hani and begged her to post SOS
blog requesting people NOT TO SMS me.
Unfortunately, not everybody reads my blog so I received quite a number of
SMSes. It was bloody frustrating.
Thank you to (the early wishers) Fahimah, Jeremy, Cindy, Julie, (first in the
day itself) Aiz, (the next few) Shuq, Anas, Mom, Mr Ex, Eunice, Maz, Effa, Hani,
Byong, San-Chan, and Mary. Note to Nina: I think it SUCKS
that you don't call me for my birthday. And don't give me the
but-I-lost-your-number excuse, I gave out my number on last week's email
reminder. >:p Aku dah merajuk gila ni!!
Aiz called me immediately after Survivor. Turns out we're both suckers for
the show! Lol. Mom called sometime at 1 AM, scaring the bejesus out of me. She
had decided to use the house phone instead of my hand phone. Do you know how
creepy it is to hear your phone ring in the dead of the night? I was thinking,
"Omigod, who died? What's wrong?!" and images of Scream filled my head
("Hello, Sydneeeeeey" turns to "Hello, Thajuuuuuuu"). Scary
scary. Thank god it was just mom!
She asked my plans for the day, I expressed my tale of hand phone woes and
she said I could buy a new one! YAY! But I agreed to it only if I pay half of
it. This way, I will feel less guilty about having a nicer hand phone. But I
sayang lah my 3210! It's the best, really it is. It's the only 3 series that I
like. (Sorry San-Chan and Hani and Nina: Your phones are nice and all, but 3210
rocks!). I already know which phone I want now. I've just talked to my cousin
Byong about it, he'll help me get my 3210 fixed and buy a new one cos I know
nuts about this stuff and feel more assured with his help.
Mr Ex called at about 330 AM. God. Damn. I had finally settled into sleep by
then (was still feeling dizzy from viral infection) when he called. He called
real late cos he had just came back from drinks with the boss. I'm still
amazed, sometimes, that I'm on such good terms with him. I mean, let's consider
the facts of our break-up. For most people, it would not have been so amicable.
But here we are, still calling each other (in a blue moon or two) and wishing
each other well. I think it's wonderful. A tad pelik at times, but wonderful.
Woke up with black eyes but oddly enough, wasn't tired. When I got home, Popo
and Kong-Kong wished me a happy birthday. Wow! They remembered, that's nice. :)
I was also greeted by a dozen beautiful red roses courtesy of my mom. Double
wow! Mom remembered that red roses are my favourite.
I got ready for my lunch with Aiz and Popo started hounding me about what to
wear. So much for making your own decisions when you're 21. She chose my whole
ward robe. In the end, I looked rather nice, yes, but over dressed. I wanted to
run up and down the house shrieking, "Over done! Over done!". I had
planned on wearing jeans or slacks at the most, but noooooo, here I was dressed
in one of my best raw silk cheong sam tops and matching embroided skirt. Perfect
for a night out, but over kill for a casual lunch and movie. ARGH. But I wanted
to make her happy, and she seemed to be very happy to baby me, so who am I to
complain? I even tolerated her when she insisted on doing my hair and make-up!
^_^;
I'm just too nice sometimes. Such a pushover.
So I met up with Aiz at Bangsar LRT station. He took me to a nice place,
Strudels, at Bangsar for lunch. He gave me a birthday present! I was so shocked!
I wasn't expecting a present. I mean, I think it's enough that he takes me out
for lunch, he didn't have to do that. Anyway, he got a lovely bracelet. Yeah,
more to add to my collection! :)
Later, we went to OU for a movie. This time, I belanja. Aiz wasn't too happy,
but I insisted and he was distracted with this phone call, so he couldn't argue.
Heh heh heh! I just don't think he has to spend too much on me. Lunch, a
present, AND movie some more? Wah, dahsyat, dashyat! Which is why I insisted on
paying for the movies.
He also bought me a birthday cake! Tiramisu, baby! Mmm...
Got home. Received SMSes from more well-wishers. I had switched my SIM card
to Popo's still functioning phone. So people, you can SMS me now! :) Ain't that
nice?
Evening, picked up Eunice from LRT station, picked up cake and dinner.
Home. Had Birthday Dinner. Nice!
I'm being low-key this year, just a small, simple, quiet dinner. Nothing
fancy. For some reason, I see no point in celebrating. I'm 21, hoo-hah-ray.
What's the big deal? I can already do most of the stuff I could do when I turned
18! What, I can vote? Oh, yeah, that's something to look forward to.
Julie just called. She wants a detailed report of my date with Aiz. Aiyo,
people! Macam paparazzi lah korang ni. But...I LOVE YOU JUST THE SAME
***HUGS***. The wonderful, wonderful people I know make birthdays worth going
through. :) Yes, OK, I had a good time. I enjoyed myself immensely. Aiz was
lovely, can't you tell?
OK, OK. I go and report to my hubbie now. Ta!
